The Cal State East Bay women's water polo team captured the Collegiate III National Championship Title on May 4. The Pioneers defeated Cal Lutheran 7-6 in four overtimes to win the championship. Lisa DeRossi-Cooper was named Coach of the Year while goalie Elise Wilhelmsen earned Player of the Year recognition. Cal State East Bay finished 20-14 for the season and 13-4 versus Division III competition.
Cal State East Bay baseball team, with a record of 26-14, will compete in the NCAA Division III West Regionals on May 14-17. The Pioneers will be making their fourth appearance in eight years in post-season competition.
Cal State East Bay women's softball team completed the 2008 campaign with an 11-23 record. The Pioneers went 1-3 on a Southern California road trip on April 18-19. The Pioneer women's softball team took a doubleheader from Holy Names 4-0 and 8-0 on April 13.
The Pioneer men's golf team will be competing in the NAIA Championships May 12-16 in Plymouth, Indiana. Cal State East Bay men's golf team finished second out of nine teams in the NAIA Region II Championship on April 21-22. Jeff Murphy and Les Teuteberg placed second and third respectively and earned All-Region honors. The Pioneer men's golf team captured the Cal Pac Conference Championship hosted by Holy Names University on April 3. Les Teuteberg had the best average score, winning "Player of the Year." Also, freshmen Bobby Bucey and Sean Callahan earned "First Team All-Conference" honors. Alan Sue was named Cal Pac Conference Coach of the Year.
The Pioneer women's golf team finished fourth in the NAIA Region II Championship on April 21-22 at the Cypress Ridge Country Club in Arroyo Grande. Kelly Tilton earned all West Region honors as she shot a three-round 166 to finish in a fourth place tie.
The Pioneer women's basketball team concluded a successful 2007-08 campaign with an overall record of 15-12 and a second place finish in the Cal Pac Conference at 11-5. The Pioneers lost to Holy Names University 52-46 in the championship game of the Cal Pac Conference Post-Season Tournament on February 23.
The Pioneer men's basketball team finished third in Cal Pac Conference play at 9-7 and 14-13 overall. In the Cal Pac Conference Post-Season Tournament, the Pioneers defeated Simpson University 100-58 and lost to eventual playoff champion Menlo College 74-63.
Cal State East Bay women's volleyball team concluded another successful season as they finished with a record of 29-5. For the third time in school history, Cal State East Bay hosted the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball West Regionals. The Pioneers, seeded #3 in the West Regionals, defeated Colorado College and lost to U. of LaVerne in the semi-finals. Cal State East Bay ranked 12th nationally in the AVCA poll and for the 12th straight season, won over 20 matches.
The Pioneer women's soccer team completed the 2007 season with a record of 11-7-1. The Pioneers lost to U.C. Santa Cruz 5-0 on November 3 and San Francisco St 1-0. The Pioneers defeated Embry Riddle College 1-0 and Westminster College 3-0 last week. The Pioneer men's soccer team finished the 2007 season with a record of 9-6-1. Cal State East Bay defeated Cal Tech 4-1 on November 2, lost to Chapman 2-0 on November 3 and concluded the season with a`2-0 victory over La Sierra University. The Pioneer cross country teams captured the Cal Pac Conference Championships on October 26. The Pioneer women's cross country team won their fifth straight championship while the men's captured their first ever Cal Pac title. The Pioneer cross country teams finished 10th in the NAIA II West Regionals on November 3.
The Pioneer men's golf team captured the Cal Pac Conference Tournament hosted by CSU-Maritime on October 11 and finished second in the Concordia University Invitational on October 15-16.

Cal State East Bay is a member of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association). We sponsor 15 Intercollegiate sport programs. The Pioneers also hold dual membership in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics). The sports of baseball, softball, women's swimming, women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, and women's water polo compete as NCAA Division III independents and participate in the Association of Division III Independents. Men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country and men's and women's golf compete in the NAIA affiliated, California Pacific Conference California Pacific Conference. Cal Pac members include Bethany College, CSU Maritime Academy, Dominican University, Holy Names University, Menlo College, Mills College, Pacific Union College, Simpson University and William Jessup University. The Cal State East Bay Intercollegiate Athletic Program has developed into a successful non-scholarship program. Since 1961, the Pioneers have won a total of six national collegiate championships. Over 160 CSUEB All-Americans have been produced at the national level along with 77 Conference Championships. In 2005-2006 twelve sports qualified for post season competition. The Physical Education Complex houses a 3,500 seat gymnasium, two swimming pools, training rooms and a spacious weight room. Outside facilities include University Stadium for soccer, softball and baseball fields, tennis courts, and a field house.
